Short answer: No The Trooper 4x4 5sp & transfer case are a unit. You need a 2wd 5sp including the rear slip yoke (or use the Trooper yoke), then the 5sp conversion is relatively simple. The good news is the Trooper 5sp is worth more than a 2wd 5sp, so you should come out ahead moneywise. Now, if you should want to convert your truck to 4wd cut out your 2wd front suspension, then swap in the Trooper 5sp along with a '79-'85 Toyota front drive axle and with some modified driveshafts.
