I am planning a small block or LS-series engine with around 500 to 600 hp (maybe not a small block anymore, as the HP would be easier with an LS-type). That is the reason for me having difficulty in deciding on trannies.
Another thing.. I live in South Africa where parts are not widely available, and expensive as one has to import almost everything from the States. With a 10:1 exchange rate, this becomes a severely limiting factor. For example, where a part would cost you guys around $100, I will have to pay R1500. An LS 2 would cost me R35 000, and then it must still be built.
We do have guys selling cut-out engine and trans combinations imported from the US. And that is why I must know what I want before I buy even an engine.
