I was wondering if I could use my bell housing of the luv I now have and add 1st generation s10 T5 tranny to my 82 luv diesel. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Or if anyone knows where I can get parts for the tranny that would work also.

No, your bell housing won't fit anything but an Isuzu MSG-5 transmission. Now, you CAN mount it on a later-model MSG-5 from a 2.3L '86-'87 P'up or 2.3L '88-'95 Isuzu Pickup. They're fairly easy to find, and a whole lot cheaper than rebuilding. And they're much stronger than the '82 transmissions.

Where are you located?

Jack

im in springfield Missouri. thanks for that info on the later model msg-5 trannys. I was getting really worried because I think I have input shaft problems and cant find parts anywhere. so I will find one of the later model trannys and switch bell housings. Is there any problems with drive shaft length or anything like that I need to look for in this application? Also will my bell housing bolt straight up with no modification?

The newer transmissions have a larger output shaft with different splines. You will need a slip yoke that fits the new transmission, but fits your driveshaft. Those are getting hard to find.
