yah i have a 78 and was thinkin bout doin the same thing- but then i found out that the 2wd models have independent front suspension,... and teh 4wd course isn-t, so if u were to do this- it would be best to get a 4x4 frame and put your truck on it- modifing your frame isnt worth the TIME and $$$$$ youd put into it. i mean a complete body off the 2x4 and body back on the 4x4 frame kinda deal. it just wasn't worth it for me to get the 4x4. u also will screw up your vin #'s from frame to frame- that was a factor in my decision also cause the body thats on mine is the original body- except for the hood.
