i should have been more specific... theres already a red and black wire on the coil, originally it came off the little sidepost on the distributor, where on the distributor does it go after installing the pertronix ignitor... i have the nippondenso distributor and 1643 ignitor...

I just checked, looks like I have mine taped off. Possibly power for the condenser/points? Its been over a year since I did the swap so I can't remember the details, sorry. But the truck runs great with it disconnected.

it ran with it connected to the neg term on the coil and disconnected it took couple hours of tracing wires in my haynes manual and came to the same conclusion... so now that we've cleared that up what should my gap b set at??? stock .30 or 81+ with the .40 gap???

I know how you feel, I felt like I had to re-learn everything I knew about fuel delivery once I got this truck. Now that I'm getting the hang of it though, it's pretty nice how everything is mechanical and responds to tinkering.
