No, it will not fit.

The best option is to stick to the most commonly performed upgrade - the Chevy smallblock V8 with a TH350 automatic transmission. Engine and transmission mounts are available already for that.

The stock LUV rearend will work just fine with a street V8.

The rearend will work fine as long as you don't use racing slicks.

Have you attempted an engine upgrade before?

Cheap and power don't mix.

If you have the cash for street slicks you should also invest in a Ford 9 inch rear end.

Go to the info section on the main www.luvtruck.com page. There's a v8 swap article that should help. Also check out the search button on this message board. This site has been here for over 10 years, and there are answers to questions you didn't know you had.

if your wanting to do a v8 swap save 95% of the pain in the butt get a small block 350 and turbo 350 trans and the power by ace conversion kit to bolt it in... from that point get a ford 9" or chevy 12 bolt or a comparible rear end narrowed or find a used one already narrowed... get a 19x22 aluminum radiator and electric fan... also shop around craigslist ebay etc for used parts since there are an abundance of them on there for the 350.. aluminum intake, 4 barrel, hei distributor reground or aftermarket cam, roller rockers, higher compression, shift kit for the th350... if you still feel like you need more power after all of that invest in some nitrous and someone who knows how to tune it for you

There are LUVs with big block chevys in them. There have been some with the Buick/Olds/Pontiac engines in them and the big Caddy's as well. A properly planned and executed swap is doable by the mechanically inclined. Preferably with some experience on a slightly less ambitious project. SInce there are no off the shelf swap parts available, all the moutns, etc. will need to be fabbed, so time, lots and lots of time, will be needed most likely. I recommend a 4.3 chevy/700r4 trans upgrade as a fairly easy swap that is more in range of a first time project...
