I searched and couldnt find much about anyone completing one.

I have bought a luv for a restoration at my shop with a clean body and interior but no motor or trans.
I have a 2.8l carb s10 motor with 4 speed manual trans that will be going into it but I have a few questions about it before I dive in next week.

Im figuring I'm going to have to change drive shaft length, any one know how much different it will be?

Best fueling option?(tank,pump)

Will stock 2.8 exhaust work in the bay or do I need to make headers?

Wiring tips would be great

Thanks in advance I'll put pictures up as soon as its cleaned up

I can't answer any of your questions, but I want to make you aware of the stock rearend ratios. A lot of luvs have 4.56 gears, some have 4.10s, and some have 3.73s. It may be worth your while to change gears or the whole rear before you go through the trouble of having a driveshaft altered.

Most s10 rears are 3.73. It's a direct bolt-in, but it'll be a 5 lug setup. Different yoke too.

Thanks for the reply

I thought the s10 rear end was wider
Also if it fits and I have s10 bolt pattern in rear and it would be a pain it switch the fronts over
I'm hoping someone has done this swap and can give me some tips
I know I'll figure it out one way or another but any input makes it easyer
Thanks

I don't think anyone else here has done the particular swap you're wanting to do. Looks like you'll be the first. Post lots of pictures.

Which Luv trucks had the 3.73 gear?

78's with an auto transmission for sure. I would assume the later years with the auto trans too.
