Is there an engine that is a direct drop in to replace the 1.8L in my Luv?

Thanks for the quick reply. I just bought a 1980 4x4 for $200 and it had some carb problems. Got them lined out and it is making a noise that my brother in law says he thinks is from carbon build up but kind of sounds like a rod knock to me. I guess I will drive it like this and worry about everything else later.

A 1.8 Chevette/I-Mark diesel would be almost a drop-in swap. But it wouldn't be an upgrade in HP, just economy.
