Whoops I posted the same site, but there are many, many other videos on the site, I just don't know how or where to place these. I think a lot of others would like these too?

Hello,

Been awhile since I've been on here. Glad that someone found a video of the truck. That one is a little dated and the truck still ran the 383 on pump gas. Eventually went to a 400ci with pump gas and last season ran it on E85.

I recently posted some newer videos here -->> https://www.youtube.com/user/70LongbedC20

The truck still runs the factory torsion bar front suspension, calvert monoleafs with Rancho shocks, a footbraked TH350, 29X10 inch slicks, a 69 AMC model 20 axle with a 4.88 gear (up from 4.10), Hooker headers, spin tech mufflers, a 850cfm Holley, and besides the hoodscoop it's all metal.

It's a good bracket car (truck) and is quite consistent even on unprepared surfaces, has run a best of 9.83 with 1.3X 60 foot times and has won a few Pro ET events plus it's a lot of fun to drive and the spectators always like it. :ebiggrin

Thank you. It's taken years of trial and error swapping parts and listening to drag racers that know. It's relatively easy to accomplish with this type of truck without the need to tub it, move the engine back, add a 4 link or ladder bar, run steamroller sized slicks or other big alterations to the frame and suspension.

I've never weighed the truck. Has anyone weighed one of these with a small block, cage or rollbar, three speed automatic and larger rear axle?

Think mine weighed about 2750 or so with a 9" and th350. You got one huge 1st gear ratio with 4.88s and a th350 8O

My 80 model weighs right at 2600 with driver. I am hoping to lose 100 pounds with the new truck. We shall see, its hard trying to lose weight and still be streetable.

Thanks for the weight information. Yes, usually run a 29" or 30" tall tire and the truck makes its ET in the first 300 feet by design which also helps keep it consistent for bracket racing purposes.
