I bought this distributor represented as a 1983-1987 Isuzu PUP 1.9 engine electronic distributor. Is this the right one to convert my Luv to electronic ignition? If so how do I hook up the wires?

Thanks!

Ok cool thank you, on the plug/connector did you cut it off to wire it up with the two individual wires or is there a mating connector that you used?

When I bought mine off ebay it actually had the other end to it so I wired one hot wire and used the old ground wire

Ok got it, thanks for the help. I may be able to steal the other connector end off my Trooper parts truck if they are the same.

I bought mine used off of ebay ($80.00 or so) there are also new replacements for around $200.00 on ebay, mine was from a 1984 Isuzu Pup with a 1.9 engine

rockauto.com has remanufactured dizzys for about $80, fit '84-'87 pickups with the 1.9L engine.

There are two types...an earlier one with the ignition module mounted externally on the outside of the coil, and a later one that has the module mounted inside the distributor.

The internally mounted one is the best - but both will work.

Remember that for best results is to tune the motor to the later spec's.

I bought a 1987 Isuzu PUP 1.9 engine electronic distributor to replace my points distributor on my 1980 Chevy Luv 1.8 engine. The distributor fits exactly the same, but no spark. I think that I'm not connecting it right. Can someone, who knows, please help me with this conversion?
