I put a head w/ the machine work and cam reground that I got off craigslist on awhile back and my luv is not producing the power it should.its got the head n cam, elect.ignition, weber, header, hot coil and 2.1/4 inch exhaust w/ turbo muffler but is a dog.stumbles on acceleration, wants to kinda bog.could the timing chain be off a tooth,or 2 ! have timed it several times w/ a timing lightw/ dwell meter and it seems to run better when timed by hand. ps.the cam was from a 4x4 setup. sounds great, runs poor.

Cat: can you elaborate on timing to 4 instead of to 1?
Directions in manuals are for timing to the #1 cylinder, aren't they.
What is the advantage timing to 4?
