Can anybody give the rough estimate value of a nonrunning 1966 327 sbc? The reason im asking is i can get onebut they wont sell just the engine and they want a pretty penny for the whole vehicle. I know original 327s can be worth quite a bit so i need to know how much is worth so i know if its worth getting the whole vehicle or not. Cuz i plan onusing it for my LUV.

Not worth much to me at all , especially if it is original . A 66' will not have hardened seats in the heads for todays fuel and will also not have accesary holes . So the motor will have to come apart and be upgraded or lead additive mixed with gas . 2 bolt main , points , depending on the car determines which heads you get . 2 pc rear main seal . Guess it depends on what you want . I would build a budget 383 vs parting a complete 66' ? chevy , just my opinion .

I bought the one in my blazer, with upgraded heads for $300. If they want to talk rare, mine is a '62...

I have a degree in Automotive Machine and I can tell you that the heads are worth money to the guys looking to restore a vehicle. The block, and rotating assembly are also hot commodities!

I paid 150 for complete 327 small block that came out of a vet motor needed to be rebuilt but ran when I got it. I think the guy gave it to me cause I helped him pull it he was asking 250 for it to begin with. Mine was complete stock with the ram manifolds and the stock intake for a quad. heads here in great shape. now rebuilt running strong with all factory equipment head intake and stuff will run about a grand or more. putting that one in a 75 I just picked up as soon as DR takes casts off legs. woohoo 2 more weeks. then rehab.
