I am looking to put a mild cam in my 350 for a half ton truck. Does anyone have a suggestion on what to use? Also i am looking to put new rods and pistons in it. The truck is throttle body injected not really planing on anything other than the cam and full length headers that i am doing to it. Any help you could give would be appreciated.

since you have TBI... your limited to whats available for the computer.... I would suggest a Comp cam XFI series grind... anything smaller than the 268 should be perfect. but general rule of thumb on the TBI is 114*LSA and 224@.050 or less duration.

as for headers... whatever fits will work.

and just a nice new set of Summit Brand Hyperutectic flat top 350 slugs would be perfect. stock rods R&R would be plenty fine as well.

Would this Cam work for my engine? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/LUN-90350LK/ Or should I get the cam and lifters separately? Could some one suggest what lifters to get?

that cam technically will work with the TBI system.... but it will be tempermental.

try this instead http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-12-262-4/

it has a more TBI friendly 114* LSA.

As for lifters, just get the cam/lifter kit.

OK just a small update on the progress. I just got the engine back from the machine shop and it was bored 40 over new flat top pistons, cam, distributor cap, plugs, wires, double roller timing chain kit and had the crank polished. Heads are getting worked now I got the bill to the tone of $1100 not counting the head work yet and when I get done crying about it I will put it all together. I didn't plan to have any machine work done but one of the guys working for me didn't there there was enough acid in the tank and put more in it and "forgot" to agitate the tank. Yeah he was fired. Scored the cylinders bad enough that i had to take it in. When he left i think he took my small block book and now i need the torque specs for the whole damn engine can anyone help with that?
