is there any reason this wouldnt attach to my 79 mikado just fine?

my fuel pump is going out, and this seemed like a good match for my quadrajet (5psi)

thoughts?

don't see why not. the most important thing to remember is the fuel flow rate and the delivery pressure.

fuel flow rate is high. 100 gph. and everything ive read is says q-jets only want at max 5 psi.
i didnt think it would be an issue. but id rather not spend 100 bucks to find out :o

I have been running a cheap little after market Purolator for 5-10 years with no problem. Others have reported similar results with generic fuel pumps. I would see what your local autoparts store stocks.

that fuel pump is fine but overkill.

if your not racing then a 30 dollar clicker pump from vato-zone would do fine as well.

for the most part, it would be overkill for a mild to stock v8 in a luv. case in point, the sorry stock luv pump held out quite well deep into the 13s for me on a v6.

But it doesnt hurt to "over pump" when having some performance goals. increasing the line size with the stock or small pump really helped alot too. a 3/8s line is alot of stored fuel for a WOT blast. and in a truck as light as the luv, a good blast is moving along purdy fast... so you wont be in it for an extended amount of time.

this pump is cheaper and more than enough for a mild V8
