So I get the origional Weber mounted up on the '79, fuel and overflow lines hooked up, vacuum line to the distributer connected and all is well. No choke, but it'll work for now.

One little problem. The throttle cable connection on the Weber is just a flat plate with a bunch of holes drilled in it. The throttle cable connection on the stocker was a pulley type with the lead connector on the end of the cable. As I've never encountered the "Holy Plate" throttle cable connection before, how exactly does one connect a throttle cable to it? Anyone have a picture of how the throttle cable connects to their weber they can post up?

take the flat one off the weber and put the one from the stock carb on then you can use the cable with no problems... thats the way i have done 3 of mine

I looked at that, but the throttle plate from the stocker is offset about 2 inches, which means the bracket the throttle cable attaches to is about that much too short laterally. Will put a nasty angle on the cable. I think I'll go see if I have something I can build a longer bracket out of...

I was reading this and noticed you had the same problem I had with my kit-provided throttle bracket. I had to extend mine...

Image Here is what my neighbor welded up for me. Worked great. It added the extra length and angle.
