All right guys, It's time for that aluminum radiator for the LUV. I have a "75" with a 350 that's 60 over. Trans, you guessed it, a turbo 350. Plan to run with a separate cooler for the trans. I see that a lot of you out there like the 22 X 19 Griffin radiator. That's great but what I would like to know is specifically what model number did you go with? I know I can't go with a 3" core, too big. I plan to keep my pusher fan and also fan on the motor. I think I need to keep the core size 2-1/2" or under. Any help on this would be great. Brian

Thanks for the tip. Checked it out at speedway this AM. Did you go with the 22" or the 24". I think a 24" just might fit but maybe somebody out there has done it. I'll let you know what way I go.

Working on the core support to make the radiator fit. Had to step it down what I could on the bottom side of things ( about 5/8" ). Most, if not all of the upper part of the core will have to be cut out. Still not too sure if the hood will clear the radiator cap, time will tell. I have been busy with work as of late so not a lot has been done on the project. I will try to post pics when I get further along. Sorry, to answer your question yes there is a fair amount of fabrication to be none to the core. I'll let you know.

Don't butcher up your core support. Go to www.photobucket.com/v8luv there are some pictures of a 19x22 radiaator installed without cutting out the upper core.
Look at the instructions for installing a V8 in the technical section of www.powerbyace.com
That should give you a good starting point.

Er the Power By Ace site is having issues again, instruction sheet index doesn't work. I do believe the sheet is on the Photobucket site though.

Mine is a griffin. I think it is the 19x22. It works perfect and the truck will make pass after pass in the 100+ degree heat (Texas). Be sure its not an expoxy radiator in case you have to have some welding on it. That was a mistake I made when i had to have a 90* elbow put on mine to clear a belt setup I used to have.

Here is a direct link to the power by ace instructions. The webmaster put a \ where a / should be.

I cut my support for clearance and cooling efficiency purposes. BIG radiator, Stock pan, dist clearance, stock cross members, stock suspension, no firewall hack so everything works. Trans cooler is mounted under bed with electric fan.

My current truck had the radiator with it , but i believe the 24 x 19 will fit in if you trim back to th "U" channels on the core support . I have the 22 x 19 with a 10,000 rpm rated flex fan and my truck will idle @ 160 all day long . I also converted my catch can to a recovery tank by adding a dip tube to the brass fitting .
