Does anybody know off-hand what the C.M.F. rating is of a Weber 32/36 DGAV carb. Im curious to see if it's possible to build a dual Weber setup for a 4.1 Buick. Im looking for other options than a Holley 390 C.F.M.

Nevermind... I found out it's a 330 C.F.M. 2 of them would be the same as the rodchester i now have. Oh well, it was worth looking into.

I concidered a 450 Holley but the thing that slowed me down was the fact that it doesn't have provisions for a choke. I asked Holley if it were possible to adapt a choke to it and they said no because of the fact that it didn't have an air horn. It looks like my only viable option is a 390 4 bbl.

hmmm i could swear that some had a choke horn. my friend used to run 2 of them on a wiend tunnel ram. the pn 510-O-9776 in jegs says 450 cfm chokeless mechanical secondary carb. but the pic sure does have a choke horn on it.

If you can find out anything i'd sure like to know. But in my case, i need to have a choke assy of some kind. It's a pain in the A$$ having an odd-ball, 4 bbl size, There isn't many options.

i guess if Holley says no choke horn then there probably isnt one. I am wondering if there used to be on the older models. would be worth a look at a local swap meet. my friends camaro got sold years ago:( so i can't look at it.

I was just on the Holley site a few seconds ago and they dont even list a 450/4bbl anymore. I guess once Jegs and Summit sell off what they have, there will be no more

wonder if you could use the throttle body off of a 390 with a choke horn and put a 450 throttle plate and butterflies on it.

Might also try jetting down a 600cfm

The carb i have now functions correcty enough to drive but i'd like to get something a little smaller so it wont eat as much fuel. I just want to fine tune the setup as i have right now. Once this motor goes south, it will be fitted with a V-8. These Buicks are very cool in their own right but it's getting tougher to locate things like an even-fire / vacuum advance distributor( there was only a 2,1/2 year production run, mid 77 thru 79) and a mechanical secondary 4 bbl in the 400 c.f.m. range. SB V-8 motors can be fitted with just about anything you can think of. There's not much left for the V-6 Buick.

I e-mailed a company in California that had a form that i filled out and they said they can fit a weber setup to my motor but they need some more info. Im gonna call them tomorrow and see want they say.
As for the projection kit, i have never heard of it. Im going to the Holley site and see if i can find out some info on it.

I found enough info about the projection kit to see that it's too much money for what it's worth. The motor i have now isnt worth trying to retrofit a totally new induction system to it. It does make me think about the future when i go with a V-8. Oh the possibilities! But for now, i guess i'll have to come to the realization that the Holley 390 is a better setup than i have right now and it's relatively cheap.

I talked to BFIC and they recomended a Weber 38/38 DGES. Its a 370 C.F.M carb but i'd have to adapt it to the spread bore manifold. It's tempting but i'll most likely go with the Holley. I'd rather have a primary and secondary configuration.
