My turning radius sucks after the lift on my 79 LUV. Is there anyway that you can make it good again like before the lift??? Like drop pitman arms or something???

Any info would be helpful.
Thanks

I didn't drive mine before the lift, so I am not familiar with the comparison. Sorry I can't help with this one...

Im pretty sure i got it fixed i went out and looked around and saw that there are stopper bolts for the rack. I adjusted them in and it seems to turn much further than before with no rubbing.

There is a link here that talks about flipping the upper ball joint on an Isuzu. Doing something similar on the LUV might help get some of the suspension geometry back closer to what it was. I don't know how much it will help turning radius, but every bit helps. If you have the torsions cranked all the way out you may want to consider losing maybe a half inch to an inch of lift in order to get back some turning radius, A LOT of ride quality, and minimize wear and tear on CV joints and steering parts. That last inch of lift you get running it out to the bump stops seems to do the worst of the changes to suspension and steering geometry.

Oh, I forgot one other point. Take it in for an alignment. Lifting it throws things quite a ways off, and could be the source of a lot of your turning radius loss.

Im pretty sure i got it fixed. The stopper bolts were holding it back considerably. So now it turns fine.

But i had another questions thats kinda another topic but anyways....
Can you lift a LUV anymore than the torsion bars will allow up front. They are cranked all the way in but i want it higher. I know you can do a swap or alot of fabricating to make it a coil setup i guess but can you do it with whats there or a few bolt on parts???

Thanks

you can get a body lift. my opinion is on this though anything over 2 in in body lift can look bad. matt
