To find out how much cutting axle and replining sxles go to Currieent.com. I had mine done a couple of years ago and I don't remember how much it cost.
You also have to fiqure in the extras, like hot tanking the housing, cutting off old axle pads, welding on the new ones, replacing the wheel bearings, etc, better figure about 5 hundred or so.

This looks like a good deal at $329, and one nice thing is the ability to get the later "large bearings" end, that way you can use Explorer rear discs, complete with internal e-brakes. I think it is the cheapest and by far the strongest way to go. I searched e-bay for several weeks and finally bought a Ford 9" "Trac Lock" third member for less that a hundred bucks!
