Lately, I've been working on putting together a LUV truck working model using Sketchup (free from google).
Just got to looking around on the 3D warehouse (it has models of practically everything) and I found a model of a SBC 350 with accurate measurements (http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/ ... revstart=0). This got me thinking about how useful a model of the frame and engine compartment of a LUV could be to anyone wanting to do a swap. You could put the engine you wanted in the LUV model and see what needs to be cut where, and how much needs to be cut. Things like radiator placement could be easily decided.

There's been some interest on the Stock trucks board, but I thought that this board could make more use of a model.

Since my truck is a 4X4, and most of the time the swaps are done with a 2X4, I don't have the measurements. Maybe someone has the dimensions of the engine compartment/frame? If I knew the measurements for the entire frame, I could find out things like spring mount placement and the angles on the U-joints, prolly even drive shaft length.

So, any and all measurements are welcome. The more precise the better.

Here's the thread in the Stock trucks forum: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=21539

Thanks for any and all input!
