Well I thought that it was just a dream like everything I wanted to do, to my other truck. but for my luv Im sticking to it. I just came up on a 2.2 ecotec motor. And its fitting better then I thought. just little adjustments and my have to push the firewall back to use the power steering pump. and for the bellhousing (dont have that yet). I think the 06 ecotec no longer has the power steering pump there. looking to go with a t5 trany. as far as rear end not sure what would be best. thinking of going with the one from the pup. so the motor is just laid in there going to make motor mount soon. but any ways here are some pics

just moved the truck here.

to close the motor still needs to go back some.

I take it the power steering pump is driven directly off of the engine? Can it be changed to a pulley drive and moved up front? Don't kn ow anything about these engines..

Depends what the engine is out of.

The 4 cyl ecotec engines have Direct Accessory Mounts
The alternator, air-conditioning compressor, and power steering pump are directly mounted to the engine for vibration suppression.

Some other versions have a belt system. No reason to have the PWS unless you are going to adapt the Luv to PWS as they did not have it on the older versions.

I was talking to the guy from quad4rods.com. I asked him about that, he said that I could cap it off and use a pump made to be driven in front say the conversion that we use for the luv from the trooper. the 05 or 06 ecotec no longer use a power steering pump off the rear of engine as it went to electronic steering thats inside the car. I was looking for a engine out of a 06 cobalt, but I got the 04 motor for 250. couldnt pass that up. so I'll make do. opptions are there but for now im giong with this.
