I got a brand new Weber 32/36 DGEV with all the mounting plates and hardware. Put it in and it was running at a really high idle and the mixture screw had to be turned all the way in to make it smooth at all. Installed a FPR and set to 3.5. Removed all the smog crap and capped off the EGR with the provided plate and gasket. Removed air nozzle manifold to the exhaust and plugged all 4 holes. Also removed the hard pipe that runs between the exhaust manifold and the EGR port on the intake manifold and plugged those holes. I have the PCV setup with and open breather/filter right off the top of the valve cover. Plugged all excess vacuum ports with nice plugs, and plugged the intake hole on the bottom of the air filter because my PCV is not piped into it. So I have my distributor vacuum advance line hooked up to the carb and that small line from the intake manifold to the valve cover hooked up. That one hooks up right after the carb into the intake manifold. Do I still need that? Replaced plugs, cap, rotor, and wires. Set points. Set the timing with a timing light and re-checked all my plug wire connections.
Finally the idle came down and it runs great. But as soon as you rev it up, it sputters and when I shift I have to give it a lot of gas or it does the same thing. If I shift really smoothly and don't ever stomp on the gas, it is fine. If I take it out of gear it sounds like it's starved or misfiring as it returns to idle. Basically anytime you let the gas off, it does that. It's running really hot and I can't adjust the mixture to get it to be any richer. When I replaced the fuel filter, I put in a clear one and watched it fill up. Took a least a minute to fill the filter up and it looks like the gas is just dripping into the filter. My next step is to buy an inline fuel gauge and see where I'm at. Maybe my pump is about to fail. Have I overlooked anything or, is that a decent plan of attack?

Sounds like you need to go 1 size up in the main idle jet. The tuneing instructions describe this situation and the re-jetting fix. Redline reccomends a "jet-pack" (assortment of jets). NOT cheap! I'm installing a weber too and expect to have to re-jet because of the headers. Go to redline.com-they have an excellent tech line. Good luck.
