i have the stock 4-speed behind the stock motor. does anyone know if there is a five speed that will bolt right up into place? thanks

im not sure if it will work but,
i had a 87 (i think) izuzu impulse that had the same eng 1.8 (mine WAS turbo tho) with a 5 speed
but it did have a wet clutch whereas the LUV's had a dry clutch.
hope this helps

btw, someone kick my ass for selling that car for $500 after i blew the head gasket and warped the head.
how the hell did i know they were that rare.
ive been looking for another for a few yrs now.

call one of those japanese used engine places they have trans too and would know what has the same bolt pattern

:wink: im not really sure about anything but i was wondering if the 83 to 87 camaro trans (5 speed) will work because im building a pretty peppy 283 to put into my luv and i just want to be able to stomp all of these little ricers around my town any help would be appreciated thanks guys

:) Try castlemaine Rod Shop over here in Australia for your tranny swap.
Rod Hadfield has a large variety of bellhousing adaptors for anything imaginable.

If they dont have it they can usually make it. Check out the 55 Chev with the V12 merlin engine they're building to give you an idea.
