Hey guys, ok just wondering if the stock fuel pump is going to be big enough to pump fuel to the Chevy 400 Small block??? Im thinking its gonna have to be swapped for a bigger fuel pump but im not sure?? :? Thanks!

You could get away with it at first but to play it safe, you should upgrade the pump and lines to better suit the bigger motor. A buddy of mine had a pontiac small block 400 in his luv and it worked. He never mentioned that he had to do any fuel system upgrades but he also kept the motor stock.

I used to use a Carter 10psi electric pump and that worked great all the way up to a 600hp small block with an 850 carb wingin' 8500rpm. I really liked that pump because its brainless, internally regulated no hassle. I even used one to run a nitrous system too. I would however recommend a Mallory Comp 140 or a Holley "blue" pump. Oh I forgot... the stock pump will power up to a 250-275hp v-8 so i would have to say no as far as the 400 unless its bone stock.
