:) When I first got my Luv I soon noticed how low they sit. My Lv is a 4x4 but my 1970 pontiac catalina has more clearance than the pickup. What the heck! So I consulted my dad on the idea of lifting the luv about 6inches from stock. basically it was pretty simple.. 2" body lift, then we toyed with the suspension and got an additional 4" with a little front end magic and adding oversized shackles to the rearend. We're still looking for some extra leaf springs to add later. The poor truck rode terrible and rough before we did anything to it, so the lift didn't effect the ride much.

I have a 79 that rides decent but I don't like the ground clearance either. I have been working on other engine issues but raising it up a little is something I would definitely like to do when I get it all straightened out. What front end magic did you work besides the torsion bars? Stepside, cool!!

You can get approx 4" of height in the rear by flipping the rear axle under the springs. Carefully cut the welds that hold the spring mounts off the housing, put them on the top, bolt the u bolts up set the pinion angle and weld them back on.
