i have a 1979 chevy luv i get kinda scared trying to keep up with trafic on the freeway :( because in fourth gear my motor sounds like its ready to EXPLODE!! and i want to keep my truck as long as posible so please e-mail me plz with any tranys that fit or work good my e-mail is

You could go with taller tires and rims. It's a quick way of getting a little more top speed but the trade off will be a loss of power trying to get things rolling. Anything else will be engine and drivetrain mods.

what about a 5-speed outta a trooper or (god forbid) a impulse? i had a 86 (i think) impulse i think it had the same basic 1.8 as the luv. it was a turbo w/ a 5 speed.

still kicking my ass for selling that car :evil:

you shouldn't have sold the car, Larp. you shoulda used it as a AWESOME ENGINE SWAP donor!!!!!
