i have an older model powerglide transmission, my engine is from a 69 nova and i have 4:10 rearend. my problem is that it seems that the shift point is very low for the size engine and transmission it shifts around 30 or so mph and to go 60mph it reves up to about 3000rpm is there any way to lower the rpm's at highway speeds with out changing the tranny? or is that the only way?

Change your diff ratio or fit larger diameter tyres :ewink
