i just want to know the best time anbody has ran with a 231 buick non turbo in a chevy luv

Welll............ I have only ran my truck once at a truck show (I slipped through tech as I don't have seatbelts. I ran a 17.4. The problems with that was, this is at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison Colorado which is about a mile high (thin air) and my reaction time was 1.5 seconds as I forgot to go on the last yellow and my dumb ass waited for the green So my truck probably runs mid 16's with the stock 231, stock rear end and a turbo 350 tranny.

I ran mine a looooong time ago spinning in first gear it went a 10.18....don't member the mph....I got the timeslip somewhere.
that was 3.8 with 5 speed and 3:42 gear.

I think thats 1/8th mile he is talkin about which would be a 15.9something. Not to say that a 10.18 1/4 isnt possible

thats still not that bad of a time. i didn't even think they could run that. i didn't even knew people ran the 3.8's at the strip.
i have just decided to go with the 3.8 for my baby

The best time I ever ran was a 14.05 @ 93 mph in the 1320. 1982 Buick V-6 .030 over, carb, intake and headders, and ofcorse a really healthy cam.
My next venture was NOS. and the best et was 12.91 @ 103mph.
Then ofcorse, now a best et of 11.66 @ 118mph and still dropping. I have since added a NOS intercooler chiller kit, should be good for at least 50 Hp, and maby even enough to get me into the 10'S, a really big MABY though.
