I was wondering what you guys think about using the radiator out of an s-10 made for the 4.3. By my measurements it looks like it would fit with a little snip and tuck, plus it already has the tranny cooler built in. Or would you get one that fits the spot for the original and not do any cutting. I will be using an electric fan. The aluminum radiators from Summit run around $350 to $480 to fit the original spot or $289 for the s-10 radiator.

As long as your using it to cool a 4.3 then I say go for it. If your using it for a v8, then I say no.

When I did the swap for the V8 in the s-10 Blazer I used a radiator from a newer model s-10. it was aluminum with plastic tanks and it worked perfectly it cooled like no tomorrow....only thing is that radiator was waaaay wider than any luv radiator....which s-10 radiator are you looking at?

oh yeah that V-8 was as bone stock as you could ask for. it even had a stock cam in it. (built it for the g/f)
if it is going to be a built V-8 to any extent I agree with what Ben says.

Yeah I am running an 1986 4.3 with TBI and a 700r4 tranny. Just making sure I can keep motor and tranny happy and cool.
