 Post subject: 3.8 alt. bracket

ok anyone have problems w/ the stock 3.8 alt. bracket? mine dont want to clear the battery tray and the damn thing just looks like it sits too high :evil:

hey I got a good remedy!!!!
cut that battery tray out and relocate the battery....heh heh :D

I had advanced adapters alternator bracket on mine....

try putting it in the bed :D . when i first got my truck i noticed a 75 luv sitting in a parking lot. i was checkin it out and a guy came out the bar and told me 300 for it. well it had a 3.8 in it and he said he had to relocate it to the bed that there was no way it would fit. i was stupid and didn't buy the truck :oops: i have no clue why :oops:

well someday the battery may be in the bed.....but for now i just busted out the angle grinder with a cutoff disk and did a little trimming :twisted:

damn thing still looks high tho :? ....did chevy pontiac or olds 3.8s have a slightly diffrent bracket?

I was fittin to say that it looked like you could cut off that arm that sticks out.....
I know I had to do alot of trimming on the stuff for the s-10 4x4 blazer I put that V-8 in....I had purchased all the brackets to put a serpentine belt and air back on it and everything was too high for the hood....ended up going with the V-belt and no air.....d'oh!

lookin good man :D . i'll probably pm you in a couple of weeks to so you can tell me a little about the 3.8 install. i'm serious debating with going with one of those.
