Anybody out there have a timeslip on their LUV with a stock V-8 in it? I mean headers, intake and Holley are ok but stock internals, 8.5:1 cast pistons, unported heads, stock smooth idling cam.

I wanna see what kind of times people pull down on and off the Jug.

My friend who prides himself as a "tuner" got his LUV into the 12's on motor and low 11's on a small shot of dope on a stock 1977 smogger camaro motor w/ holley 600, torker intake, headers, stock trans and converter.

I picked up a free 350 out of a similar car and we are kind of having a battle of who can go the fastest for the cheapest. Eventually we are going to see who can run the biggest shot of nitrous before the motor lets go.

Oh Hell Yeah, I want in. Spraying the guts out of a stock motor is a blast. You would be surprised how much a fresh well built cast pistoned motor will hold up. A few issues back in Chevy High Performance they put it to a stock motor and it took the 400+ 8O pills to kill it. It may not last long but it sure is fun while it lasts.

The Luv I bought had a time slip in the glove box. It ran 15.80s with completley stock 350 and the original rear end. Judging by the short times it was spinning the tires about 30 feet out.

A guy I know ran a "350hp" 327 4speed into the high 10's in his '64 Nova way back in the day. Not sure how the hell he did that. I do know he was running a class that only allowed you to run factory parts (bowtie intake, 292 turbo heads, etc.) Thats a light car but 10's is ridiculously fast for what i saw on under the hood.

Another guy i know supposedly has his 325hp car into the 11's on motor (also a 4speed car) I dont see anything special about these motors but they are pulling that ET from somewhere.

I think i am going to have to go to a 4 or 5 speed or find a really efficient converter to be a contender.

a whole second off the ET on an 80 shot. ya gotta love how nitrous brings out the beast.

My friend had a '70 Chevelle that with a decent small block but it was a heavyweight that was stuck in the mid 14's on a 3.31 gear. I put a 175 shot on it and BAM instant 11's. Almost dropped 3 whole seconds on a small shot. HAHAHA I love nitrous.

My Luv has a stock 350 with an RPM and shorty headers.
I havent ran it yet, but it feels like it should go some high 13s.
