Any one try one of these carburetor on their Luv's? We use them a lot on VW engines. I don't know how they would compare to the Weber. We use both. I have used the weber progressive carburetor on VW's up to 2.0l Engines so the should work. Kradons I have the weber on my 2.0l Porsche 914 engine. But dual Dell's would give me more performance.

WOW the 2 Side Draft Dells look great. The single 'dell looks good. How did the signal Dell work. I was think of a single Down Draft in place of the Factor carb.

Unless the Webers were IDA's, I would throw them away in VW's and get a set of Dell's.

You guys consider yourselves lucky, we have a little problem with brake resiorvors being in the way for pretty bits of kit like that.

But i do have a single sidedraft lynx manifold and a 42DCOE here. :ewink

All your stuff is on the wrong side. I could see where the master cylinder could be in the way.

I can use the master cyl out of a WFR van, its got a remote mounted tank and the bolt up pattern is the same as the one on the Luv and it needs replacing anyway.
The tank is setup for 3 supplys, one for the clutch master as well. Might need to chase up an early pedal setup.

Im not sure what to do with the 42DCOE. I have the manifold and i have a rebuild and soft mount kit. It does need to be re-choked etc as from what i can tell it was on a really small motor. I also have a 40DCOE here but it would be too small. I have a 2.6L thats going in my pup, if the 2.3L carb wont do it ive got a 34ADM here that came off a 200cid 6 cyl.

I want to try EFI on the Luv, its only got a G161Z engine in it and i have a TBI setup here off a 1.6L that i want to adapt to the motor. For now its going to stay stock with gas prices being what they are. Works out over $6.50 a gallon, for that money im happy to just poke along.

A man has to save up in advance just to fill a fuel can to go play dirt bikes.
Back when i was a younger man you could fill it up with loose change.

Bob

your welcome... the guy in Italy is great and when i got my 40 dell's i paid $230 total for them... anything i found here was $600 to $1000 at the time, and well used...he said they are getting harder to find over there now but still he can get them and all of his are cleaned and jetted for what you want (good base line anyway) he cant make it perfect out of the box ... prices have gone up sence then

last set of solex’s i got from him like in the picture of my luv and shipping was or is $36 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SOLEX-C4 ... QQtcZphoto

Sorry but you cant, ive got one of these, i bought it used off eBay for a good price. Once it turned up i was stoked. About 3 months later i was looking at it and i realised that if i used it on my Luv/pup it wouldnt be a side draft it would be a front draft. Its a side draft adapter for a FWD east-west engined car. To use it on a RWD you would have to put an adapter under it.

Im lucky, it just so happens that ive got an N12 1.6L manual Nissan Pulsar here and its loaded with smog shite, I can see the 40DCOE going on it once its past its Roadworthy check and registered and back on the road.
