I am running a TH350 short tail tranny. Per the hooker V8 swap guide it states that a 70-80 camaro driveshaft will work. (A 1 gen S10 driveshaft will not work) . Also if there is anyone running this setup please measure the driveshaft if possible. I think it is 48 inches but I am not sure. Any help please.

This may be stupid question, but are you running Hooker mounts?

not a stupid question at all, there are some pretty talented fabricators on here. But yes I am running the hooker mounts, engine and transmission.

It just makes it harder to figure out. Sorry I don't have hooker stuff. But I am running Camaro stuff. The whole engine drive train are Camaro. But it is not where I live during the week. I was going to pull it up here this weekend but my tow dolly needs a tire. Of course I didn't see this till it was all loaded up and ready to go.... Good thing my son has better eyes than I do, It is in that years. Early one.

I just measured mine and it is 48 inches from end to end not including yoke. Not sure what my old 350 was but it also works perfect with my 700r4.

This might help too. I don't know if it covers every possibility. I have had it a good while. (That's redneck for a long time)

thanks for the info. It is ok PapaG I grew up in louisana and now live in alabama so I speak redneck right well.

I qm trying to decide whether I want to buy a used drive shaft or have the one I have cut down (2000 S10 driveshaft). I found a used 2nd gen camaro driveshaft for $5.00 plus $27.00 shipping or I can have a local shop cut minre down and rebalance it for about $70.00.

Which would be better?
