I got it in and got the linkage fitted up crudely, made a poorly crafted throttle bracket, and my truck runs better i think... its really rough and im still working on getting the idle figured out since its kinda high, i have to put my tach back in eventually, but thas another story... I dont think i got the linkage how its supposed to be since the adjusting screw that was on it i had to take it outsince it was in the way.... i dont really know how else to mount it up, if i can get ahold of a camera then ill post soem pics.. also the throttle shaft's threads are stripped out and i had to cram a nut to hold it in place that was the wrong thread spacing... but it works i guess...

"Just stick a Weber on it..." doesn't tell the whole story, huh? I had a whole world of problems last one I did, hopefully this one will turn out better. Hope yours works well. Lot of little ticky things to raise your blood pressure on some Weber swaps.

now my truck diesels (never did it with the hitachi), and it would seem there is a bit of a dead spot in the acceleration, but that might be the fact that the carb sat for 4 years and was part way taken apart before, then i had to put it back together... A rebuild kit probably wouldnt hurt, and if i had some kind of way to fix the threads on the throttle shaft, and get all the correct linkage parts instead of the make shift ones that i had to modify and fabricate so i could even have throttle linkage...

Mine does the same. And this has been with two differnt Webers on it. A brand new one and now a used one I bought on here. It has a dead spot just off idle (the accel. pump works fine) and it diesels when I shut it off and the idle is at 850rpm. :?

the weber i had on my old ride had a flat spot as well, even after i had it jetted just right. just a teensie air leak at the throttle shaft can be known to do this. ran it 60,000 miles like that and never had a problem. the benefits still far out weighed a small (but slightly annoying)chug under low rpm acceleration.

there's a fuel shut off solenoid available for the weber that would solve your dieseling issue. they run about 25 bucks and aren't too difficult to install

Some Weber models like 32 DFTA have air bleeds under carb base that need to be sealed by gasket when mounted. Leaks here cause rough running, impossibe idle, lots of problems.
