Well, as I was half way through my teardown of the second block sitting in my garage, I realized that I have a G200 block. First, will the 1.8L head fit this block. Second, I know where an Impulse is with head and fuel injection still on the motor. Should I? 8O

Ok, guys, what all do I need from the donor to make the fuel injection work. I need to make a "shopping list", per se, before I go to the junk yard so I can price only what I need and don't get taken. If it will be too much, I'll see about putting the 1.8L carbureted head on the 2.0L block. For those of you who have "offered up their heads on the chopping block", I apologize for the inconvenience and my seeming inability to make a decision, but money is at stake (and that is something I don't have to throw around on something that might not work). I will be in touch with you (I truly hope I'm not burning any bridges).

So far, I think I need:
Head
Intake (MAF, Throttle body, etc.)
Fuel rack
Injectors
Computer?
O2 sensor?

Input definitely needed as I have never even contemplated something like this before...

Thanks in advance!

You need to determine what pressure the fuel injection needs to operate correctly. Then you can make sure you get the right pump. Try getting the fuel pump off of the impulse. Are you getting the complete engine from the impulse or just the head and fuel injection? We ran into a snag on the opel injection project cause the distributor from the original engine won't work. The fuel injection is set up to use a mechanical advance instead of vacuum advance.

Also, you need to make sure you get EVERYTHING that bolts to the engine/chassis for the injection. If you forget one little component, it may run like shit, or not at all. You may want to get throttle linkage/cables, brackets, bolts, and nuts. There is gonna be alot more to it than I wanna do so GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I'm looking at this stuff on the internet, and I'm thinking I may not want to undergo this at this time. It turns out the the G200 (1949cc) is the 1.9L, so I think that the head should swap with no problem. I set my bad head on the block, and it seems that all will line up ok. The rest of the block looks identical as well as all of the ancillaries. I think I have spoken too fast, and am not ready to do this yet. The parts are going to be damn expensive too. I expect the computer alone to be about $200 now that I have looked a little more. I think the carbureted head is going to be the way to go.
