Iam having issues with the fuel pump on a 231 buick V6. I have just bought the truck and it has a electronic fuel pump on it now. But it keeps stalling on me. I took it to the shop and they siad it was probly vapor locking because it is monted in the engine bay and it is heating up. He suggested putting it down by the gas tank and see if that solves the problem..
My question is, what do these engines usually have for fuel pumps and is the electronicfuel pump a good idea or should I go stock....Sorry I dont know what year thre engine is...I am new to the V6 game...I am a 4 banger for the most part...Any ideas, suggestions, opinions, advice etc..would help...thanks

Electric pumps are better at pushing than pulling. It will work better the closer to the tank it is.
