does anyone know if a th 2004r will fit in place of a stock th200 in a luv the th2004r is a 4 speed with overdrive

It may bolt right up to the engine without any problems, but the tranny will be longer and you will need to get a custom driveshaft made to get it to work. For my $$$, I'd go with a 700r4 over the 2004r. It's a stronger and more durable trans.

the 2004r will not bolt up to the isuzu engine. the auto trans thats in there right now is a GM made th200 that has a case made just for the isuzu engine.

and the 700r4 is not a stronger trans than the 2004r.

2004r's were stock behind the "under rated" 245hp buick GN engines.

I had that same question just never got around to post it. billy joe since you say that it will not bolt up to the isuzu, can a plate be made to fit the bolt pattern to fit the engine.

You would be better off gettin a 4 speed auto out of an impulse.

A g200 one will go behind a luv motor.

A turbo or 2.3L one will bolt up but the flex plate and converter arrangement need work. Add a few extra clutch plates and youve got the same box in the 2.6L pickup auto.

If the LUV is a manual the tranny mount should work. Not sure how the auto goes, you may need a manual chassis memeber.

Your tailshaft will be too long. The auto trans is longer than the manual trans, again not sure on the auto luv, we didnt get them down under.
