i recently i bought a 79 4x4 luv 1.8 is locked up a friend gave me a 1.9 whith g200 stamped on the block but it came out of an s-15 will it bolt to my trans? it looks the same.

can you get sum pics of it for me i got an s-10 with a 4 banger in it and it looks to be a bit different than my isuzu 1.8 so i wont to know if it is a pos or it might be kool

The main difference you will notice immediately between a G180 1.8 and a G200 1.9 is the missing air injection rail on the G200. Other than that - they are pretty much a direct swap.

But if you want more compression and more hp/torque, use the G200 block with your old G180 head on it, add a Delta re-ground cam for about $60.00 and you will have a nice running little potent 4-banger engine.

Then throw on a weber with an Offy intake, swap out the old points type distributor for an electronic distributor/ignition module from an 80-82 Luv, I-Mark, or Pup, add a 50 amp alternator (same price as the stock 35 amp one - just ask for the one for a Luv with A/C at any parts store), bolt on a Pacesetter header, and IMHO you have built your truck the way Isuzu and Chevy should have done it in the first place.

Plus it will be a lot quicker, run a helluva lot better, and get way better gas mileage. The details on how to do all of this are here, so if you want to know more - just holla.

do check the trans, i was told by the wrecking yard it is not the same as the isuzu trans and wont work.... thats is what i was told i have not checked for myhself to verify it, doesnt make sence to me but thats what they said
