Racing aside, In CA. you can't do much for power and still pass smog. That header won't even pass.

Yikes, smashed? 8O

That seems like you are punishing the wrong "thing". The truck shouldn't have to die just because the driver is irresponsible. Man I hate legislation...

That kind of California legislation is what makes the rest of the states shake their collective heads. California is way ahead in some ways, but what's going to happen when some senator's son gets killed running from the police cause he doesn't want to loose his car? Is the state of California going to open any dragstrips? Racing is not going away, but I bet that law does. There will be so many lawsuits, Arnold will have to take a long look at dis. Streed racing will not be tol a raided.

alright ill reiterate so TAZ dont have to this time;
Camshaft by delta,
Electronic dizzy off a 82 or later LUV, P'up, I-Mark, Impulse, ect... There is lots of info on this site about it you just haev to look it up, pertronics has a dizzy built for these engines, and a good accell aftermarket coil does alot of good.
Pace setter is a good header (prolly the one you got) isnt too bad, but they dont make much for power in the bottom end... I have heard talk of a header by calmini that is made better for bottom end power, i cant verify this for certain.
there is a post close to yours that explains how to polish you head, this could also work for your manifolts to i believe.
Webber 32/36 carb is prolly the best thing you can do to these engines.
Here in the next couple months i plan on building an intake for mine that uses fuel injection so if you are really serious ill have a full list of details of all the upgrades that i have done and you may be able to turbo charge
thats all i got for now

As soon as you put a cam in, there goes your gas mileage. If you do it right and pull the engine and rebuild it with all the mods, you'll probably spend as much as it would cost to drop in a V8 or V6 with an automatic. If your truck is older than 30 yrs I don't think don't have to worry about emissions.
