I noticed in your introduction you said there were some weaknesses in a G180. I am currently rebuilding a G180 block w/ a G200 head. had the head shaxed 20 thousanths, getting the block bored 40 thousanths, getting the cam redone, asked for a custom grind, to work best from 3000 to 6500, getting an offenhauser intake manifold, doing the port and polish on the head myself, want to get a weber 32/36, made a custom sealed air intake, i am hoping to make around 150 horses natrually aspirated power, and saw youre making 580hp!!! i really dont know much about turbocharging :oops: so can you clue me in on whats weak in a G series and about turbocharging?

Jared,
The main weakness in the G180 is the timing chain,here in Aus we can buy a double row kit for them and that fixes the problem,also with the G180-G200 head,you cant port them out enough to make the power you want,you need the G161 head that we have here in Oz,also when it comes to porting,leave it to a proper cylinder head specialest.The power your after sounds a bit high,even if you get close your going to need EFI to do it or twin 45mm webers,the single 32/36 wont be enough....

What are the chances of us here in the states being able to get some of the good performance parts that you have in Oz land?I know it will cost for shipping and takes a lot of time but from the sounds of it the performance minded people here would be more then happy from the end results.

oh, how much hp do you think ill have with my engine? ill probably take my head back to micro machine to port and polish.
