I have a lifelong friend who owns a company named Rimedies rim repair and powdercoating. He has a machine and is able to repair virtualy ANY rim that has been dented, bent, and even chunks taken out of. He does alot of business for local chevy, ford toyota, etc.....dealerships that get wrecked cars in. Some of these wheels today are extremely expensive and he can repair them for a fraction of the cost. Believe me, when finished, they look as good as new and even better than the ones still on!
I remember he told me once about changing the bolt pattern on rims and he said sure he could do it. I have been searching lately on this website for information on a 5 lug conversion. Then it hit me today when I was bringing my little girl to dancing, that I could just buy new rims of my choice and have him change the rims to the 6 lug pattern instead of fighting to change the pattern on the truck!!! I will contact him tomorrow and make sure he can, but I'm 99% sure he can! I'll let you know. The number to his shop is 337-267-7461 and his name is Craton Harmon. Tell him Scott LaFleur sent you!

I had a set of very late model Ford Excursion wheels that I wanted to put on my 86 Suburban. A tire shop near the house told me he could send them out to be filled and redrilled for about $30 a piece.
I didn't do it, but really liked the idea.

Talked to him this morning. Yes he CAN change the bolt pattern on wheels, but they have to be aluminum. So you guys that want pro-stars or draglites, give him a call. He said it IS possible to widen up wheels but it is too much work and he does not mess with that. Ha also does not mess with changing the diameter like 14" to 15". He told me he has so much business doing just that (changing bolt patterns) he could open a seperate division of his shop. So if you need something, call Craton Harmon at 337-267-7461 :P

ctmandu,
You may want to check these guys out:

http://www.stocktonwheel.com/wheel_widening.htm

They widened some stock Jeep rims for a friend of mine. He is real happy with them, and they have held up to 4-wheeling in Moab and on the Rubicon...

OUCH!!!

I never asked my friend what it cost him. He's got money enough to do whatever he wants...

Narrow some mag wheels? I haven't found anyone to do that. I like my Stock Camaro Wheels that I have on my rear end. I wish they were 15" instead of 16" too.

Grandmaster of the "Shade Tree" way.. I can't see the yard for all the cars. Come on down and we will sit on the porch and watch the grass grow.
