I found this on ebay and thought it might be a good swap into my '80 luv. Would it work or would it be easier to pump up my stock 1.8

Theres no reason why it wouldnt work. Youd need to chase up a few bits out of a 2.3L or 2.6L trooper of pup, mounts flywheel etc. The motor will bolt up to your box.

Id sooner see you buy the whole car as you get the lot then. This motor probably wont have all the EFI stuff you need. The AFM the ECU etc etc. Check it out.

Cheers, Bob.

One thing you could do is go a turbo and straight Propane conversion on this motor.

Or you could use the bits off this motor to do the same thing to the G180.

Or you could use an aftermarket ECU on the motor. Most of the efi componants on the ECGI EFI you got in the Impulse was aftermarket friendly. You need an ECU that will read an optical distributor signal as thats the distributor that should be in it.

Cheers, Bob.

Yeah including the 3.9:1 LSD center if so fitted. Thats an Impulse 5 link, the 3 link rear end had a different diff.

Drive it before you pillage it, you might enjoy the Impulse experience. I like to encourage people to save the Piazza here in OZ as theres not to many left i would expect it would be the same deal in the USA.
