6 months in the making has finally arrived- the new 350 V-8 has fired up and is running! What an awesome sound. Will soon get the front fenders and hood on to take it for a spin. Couldn't have done it without this website; thanks to all!

Cool. Congrats.
I'd sure like to drive or ride in a LUV with V8 power...

A ride in a V8 LUV is like eating Lays potato chips( You can't have just one).

Congrats, it is allways nice to see a job done. Now sit back and enjoy the ride.

Just a small reminder, our LUV's are never done, we allways find more stuff to do to them.

I think I am 2-3 weeks behind you.

Too many details- not enough time in the day to get them done.

Wow. Exciting.

I picked up a pair of Flowmaster 40 series a few weeks ago on sale at a local speedshop in town.

You fab your own trans mount or buy the hooker one?

Congrats to all who have or are close to getting them running. I never thought it would take me this long. Life keeps getting in the way, but one of these days.......

It took four months to build mine and I'm still beamin' - it's hard to be humble when you're rumblin' down the street and everyone's lookin' at you - until the idiot at Crackle Barrel sez he likes your "Toyota"!!

Tomslong79 you will not believe what you feel when you ride in a V8 Luv. You just don't know until you do it. One of the things I found is when you are in one of those situations where you are moving along pretty fast and a cop sees you and you have to slow down, the cops usually think it's the guy beside you with a bigger car and obviously a bigger engine. They let the small truck go, and go after the bigger car. It's no guarantee, but it happened to me several times. More useless information for the Luv trivia file.

Yeah, and there's nothing like the feeling of sitting on the side of highway with your one week old engine waiting on the tow truck cause your electric fan stopped working :onfire: Unless, you count the feeling you have as your neighbor watches your Luv project being let off the tow truck in front of your garage . . . . . had BOTH of those this morning trying to get to work.

I've ridden in a few V8 LUVs. My buddies brother had one in the 80's. It was basically a stock 350 with a 350 trans and a 9" posi..

My buddy would leave a light and floor it. It would burn out across the intersection about 40 feet or so, then hook up and put you into the seat pretty hard.

What cracks me up about these trucks is they are so light that the modulator in the trans. doesn't even feel a load and shifts at like 3500 rpm. So your flyin, and the eng. is just cruising as it if was in a station wagon or something on it's way to the store.
