Well im trying to find out what kind of cam i can use for my truck. I have a stock rebuilt 350 that i will be putting a set of camel hump heads(casting 186) well and it has the bigger valves, dual spring set up, and also they are ported. I bought the set for 300. And i have the 700r4 and 9" with 4.56 gears and will be needing a diffrent stall too depending what cam i get. I will also be using a 100 shot of nitrous. What u guys think.

Nitous likes a higher centerline #. And if the motor has stock pistons and the heads are 76cc the compression will be lower and there will be no need to bleed off cylinder pressure. Hard to beat 280/480 , but may be a little on the big side for your compression . How much cam are you willing to tollarate?

The heads are 64 cc. The guy that sold me the heads has a lunati cam with .534 lift and .245 @ .050 duration but it said it would work best with 10.0- 11.0 compression wich i dont think i have

Nelson,
186 is later model camel humps... usually 1.94 valve and bigger chambers (68-74cc?).

you will most likely run around on motor most of the time and occasionally hit the button so i would go with a cam that makes your motor run hard all motor. the 480/280 always works even with 8:1 compression. I would also check out an Erson hi-flo or a Lunati Bracketmaster but try not to exceed .500 lift unless you upgrade your heads to aluminum or at least some decent iron Darts with at least 170cc-200cc intake runners.
