Im seriously thinking about cutting the rear of the frame off and narrowing everything up. I have never attempted anything like this and would like to give it a try. first off I will probably order all the parts as I can can afford to do so and then once I have everything I need or think I have everything I need to keep it a roller I will have at it. So how would a person go about this? Would you Order the wheels and tires and plan all your measurements around this? Im planning on ordering a competition engineering rear frame set up with 4 link and coil overs from summit. Any advice would be great.

my dad and i are actually doin all this to our 76luv right now and we had to do ALOT of measuring untill we actually new what all to get like rear housing width and tire size we want to run and wheel backspacing what we did was just measured all off of centerline and put marks on the frame with a paint marker to identify were everything will be placed and all that fun stuff and doing a rear your self is gonna be kinda tricky as is for us itll be tricky

I have been told the LUV truck is one of the easiest things to tub. I know that its going to be a tedius pain in the butt so I decided to make it a little easier on myself and go with a fully welded rear frame set up to save a little time and head ache. What size wheels and tires are you using and how wide is your rear axle from axle flange to flange?

When I did mine I first started with my rims and tires. That let me know how wide my rear end had to be (31 inchs from face to face) and how wide my frame had to be(17 inchs). By the way I run 31X18.5 tires on 15X15 rims.

I did mine like luvr8 said. I run 31 x 16.5 on a 12 inch rim ,left enough room for a wider rim.Measure, measure,remeasure, draw it out,measure again, have a beer and get r done ! lol

Autoweldchassis.com has a Luv Pickup Rear Frame Clip. Go to Frames which should be the first page, and scroll down to the last frame clip available on the page. Part # 3570. Everything in the kit is mandrel bent, jig welded, low profile, pro street four link, Aldan series 7000 coilovers, panhard track locater, rod ends, and from the looks of it the bed mounts are already fabed. It is a beautiful piece of work and might be something that would interest you.

WOW!!! Think of the hrs of work saved if you used that! Tub the bed and bolt it back on.
