i read the post about the conversion 4wd to 2wd? was wondering about the transfer case? i am a newbie to this ,and was thinking about buying a luv truck that i saw in the classified. it was said that you can use pup spindles off a 86 isuzu. do you need to change the drive shaft.

Take the driveshaft out. Instant 2wd.

My thought was to go with a newer 5-speed 2x2 tranny, and have a shaft built.

You shouldnt need to, the 4x4 4 speed box is the same length as the 4x2 4 and 5 speed boxes. The yolk could be different.
