Derek listed the driveshaft he used in our V8 swap article. I would copy/paste it here but you can't copy text from a .pdf file.

I totaly understand the budget thing. This is my reason for pushin for the 9.

when i fisrt upgraded my v8 with some high performance parts, i was running the stock rearend. this guy who sponsored the monroe drags ran his for two years. he had the same truck as me (only his v8 was slightly modified). he said it was a 'beefy little truck rearend' and should last. after upgrades(cam, intake, heads, etc) i chunked the thing while going for a test ride. All the time and money to convert it to something stronger. BUT, I too have many things ive done twice, and if your like me, you will enjoy the fact that your never quite finished. Just know if you build the motor strong, it will expose the weak link.

Just so you know, chunkin my rearend was one of the happiest moments ive had with this whole project. i knew, like you, that the 9 was waiting. It happened on a warm, sunny day in seattle- the buddies and I were wrenching on all our rides. The day before the Super Chevy Show. the barbie Q was on, the brews were frosty..

have fun.
