Well after alot of for thought I have decided to go ahead and can the small block option, I got a good deal on 2 small blocks so I am going to build them and sell them to fund my new project...

I am picking up a 472" Cadillac Big Block    for $800. A little more work than I wanted to do, but how can I pass this up???

Well the guy got rid on the Caddy before I could get the Motor... But seeing as I change my mind as much ( if not more ) than my undershorts... I picked up a 1968 327 ( high nickle block ) Camel Hump 2.02 Heads, all set up and running ( could use a refresh ) for the right price of $150  ( Sorry EZ ) and I got my SM465 tranny $25 ( Sorry again EZ ) and I picked up my NP203 for $100 now all I need to find is a NP205 and my drivetrain will be complete and once I come up with $1800 I am ordering my Suspension, Quater Eleptic Rear and Coil Front. I am going tomorrow to get parts for my Hydraulic Steering... If it ever stops raining over here I am going to Epoxy the Floor and than Paint it this week...

So after All I guess all is good. :D

Luckily my job pays me very good... Lets put it this way, Its $2000 for the suspension, another $2000 for tires. About $3000-4000 to build the motor, $800 just for the plate that mates the two T-cases, $500 for the clutch, $500 for the Lakewood bell housing, Between $300 and $500 each driveshaft, $250 per U-Joint ( 6 of them ), I paid $400 for the axles, its $800 per locker, $200 per gear set, I paid $200 for the rims, its $200 for the runflat inserts to make the double beadlock, $150 paid for the motor, $200 per T-case ( 2 ), $150 per diff cover, $500 in paint and supplies, I am paying a friend to do all the fab work, The steel for the suspension mounts and external rollcage $$$, $200 per battery ( 2 ), $300 fuel cell, $200 in battery boxes, $200 battery cable, $200 in headlights, $950 per winch ( 2 ), Thats over $20,000 right there and thats just the start of it...

Holy Shit 8O ... I never looked at it all separate like this... What in the Hell have I gotten myself into...

No prob, you don't sound like an ass. What kind of set up are you running??? I will be using ARB air lockers, Ox U joints, Quater elliptic / coil spring suspension, etc. So it gets to be expensive.

When I start assembiling I will take some more pics, I just got the bed off today and finished removing all the shit I don't need, gas tank, shocks, and everything on the frame that is no longer needed. My next step is to blast the frame the epoxy and paint. Hopefully if this rain stops ( its been raining over a week ) I will be able to epoxy and paint the floor ( Grabber Green ).

yeah see im going old school, leafe springs on all 4 corners and Gm truck axles. If i lock it up it will be welded. I guess its just where i grew up i dont realy see the point in all that high dollar stuff. Especially in a trial rig since its just more complicated stuff to go wrong...
Just diferent schools of thought i guess.
