Since my Nissan is totalled, I have the complete drivetrain at my disposal. So I have been trying to decide if I should drop in the LUV. Has anyone heard of anybody else doing this? Any feedback would be appreciated.

well since its a an 89, im guessin you have the ka24 and 5 speed. i think it would be an easy swap. the motormounts would be pretty simple. i dont know what side the transfer case drops down on, but if it matched the luv, just have a shaft made to mate them, and the same for the tranny to rear.

No problem, not really pissed. Just not a dude, just and old timer trying to pass on a little info I knew old or not.
Still trying to fit my sons 80 with a 2.6 and 5 speed from an Isuzu.
Still needing to know if the bell housings are interchangeable from his 4 speed to the 5 speed we have. :D :?

No prop..srry if I was a little snappy....looooooooong day

As far as the 2.6, and 5-speed....short answer is no the bell housings will not interchange, main reason being that the bell housing on the 5-speed is integrated into the tranny. best way to do it would be to swap in the 2.6 along with the 5-speed attached to it (and while your at it grab the 12 bolt from the Isuzu you get the 2.6 from, it's a good strong axle that can handle tons of abuse, or grab a D44 rear from a 93+ Rodeo, disc brakes and is a bolt in)

Not interchangable, the engine bolt pattern is pretty much the same though. Plus you can swap the rear plate off the 2.6L engine and bolt it to the G180.
