i need to know what are the rpms that i will turn with a th350 auto and factory rearend. are what the rpms r with a s-10 rearend with such and such gears. i just have a problem finding a cheap 700r4 and have two th350 but the deal is this will be a street truck with a mild 383.

The rpms will depend on the mph. The street LUV I had back in the day with the 4;11's turned around 3200 rpm @ 55 if I remember correctly. This was with a 26 inch tall tire.

what trans did you have and my newest news is that I found a 700r4 for $300 with a 90 day warranty. so i would like the last few details like what lengh the drive shaft should be for my 81' long bed and if there is one that will bolt in. and any bad azz tips that i haven't heard like "use a powerglide and bolt on some really tall slicks" and other slow remarks

Most trans without overdrive will be about 1 to 1 ratio. So basically a 350,400,c-4,c-6,727 will all be about the same. A S-10 rear end is available in several ratio's as well as a "stock" LUV rear end. Tire size makes a big difference also. So in a nut shell what are you trying to do, 1/4 mile, freeway what? We will need the tire size and exact gear set to give you a real answer.

my factory gears i have researced and found to be 4:11s and 14's with generaly the same as factory tire height. it will be my street truck so i would like to keep the revs low for fuel and wear efficency.

let's look at this a little closer 383,4.11s,26" tires,700R4 with 3.06 first gear,and overdrive,nope wont work as the tires won't hold that kind of power no way,even with a t-350 with the 2.52 first gear is going to be bad enough.You need to consider putting a S10-rear at the min. so you can run a bigger tire for traction,People do run your combo. all the time(well maybe not the 700R4) and it will work but you have allot of power low gears and your tire bill will be big.But your combo. will make a great driver. All this is just a suggestion as well build ore trk the way we want and can afford. Good luck with your build and have fun.
